Introduction

I’ve been working in the “Business World” for 12 years now in the Insurance / Finance Industry. Right after I received my Master’s Degree in Information Resources Management I had an idea of where I wanted to be and what I wanted to do, but the reality was that there were bills to be paid and a job that needed to be had with no real experience in the field.

And so I became a programmer - Developer/ Analyst to be exact. This wasn’t really where I wanted to be. My life took some twists and turns (see Dice article posted at left and also posted as a blog post) and I somehow fell into what I wanted to do from the beginning.

On this blog I’ll be talking about some of the difficulties that we encounter when trying to train users on technology – from the person that has zero skills with computers, to the reluctant user who thinks they know it all. It keeps us busy certainly, and there are probably no straight answers to the best approach.
